Friens of MTL
The Friends of MTL hold quarterly meetings in January, April, July and October. Check the calendar for dates and times.

The Friends of the MTL is a non-profit organization of people like you who use the library and appreciate its value to the community. The purpose of the Friends group is to assist in adult and Children's programs, provide funds for materials and equipment, and focus attention on available library services. The Group meets once per quarter and volunteers throughout the year at various fund raising and program events.

Friends help MTL by coordinating and staffing a number of events and programs throughout the year, such as the Pre-School Story Hour, Summer Reading Program, Guest Lecturer Series, Family Reading Night, Book Sales, and various other children's and adult programs.

The annual Taste of Literature and Book Sale are some of the more familiar fundraising efforts of the Friends. These funds are then used for special projects like landscaping, furnishing the custom display wall in the Adult Reading Area and expanding the Audio Books selection. Funding assistance for ongoing needs such as audio-visual and computer equipment updates is also provided by the Friends.

Become a Friend today and enjoy that good feeling that comes with knowing you have enriched someone's life. The time you choose to spend helping your local library benefits so many in your community. It's a great group to be a part of. Your dues alone will keep in motion the programs already established.

If you choose to become actively involved, your efforts will help your library toward goals not yet reached. As a group we are always looking for new members with new ideas and enthusiasm.

As a Friend, you will receive a membership card that entitles you to yearly benefits which include:

  • $2 worth of photocopies or color photocopies or printouts
  • One waived late fee
